Day 19 of 19 · Part 3: Operating at scale

Wrap-up: make Intune automation intentional

19 days, one theme. The key wasn't API syntax. It was discipline.

19 days. One theme: make Intune automation intentional.

Over this series, I walked through how teams can move from calling APIs to operating platforms with Microsoft Graph and Intune.

The key element wasn’t API syntax. It was discipline:

  • ✅ Understand Graph fundamentals and OData so queries are precise, fast, and readable (Days 1–3)
  • ✅ Design auth and permissions with least privilege in mind, not just .ReadWrite.All (Days 2 and 5)
  • ✅ Treat automation like production software: resilient retries, idempotency, and safe rollouts (Days 4, 13, and 17)
  • ✅ Use RBAC, scopes, and approval patterns to reduce blast radius (Day 14)
  • ✅ Turn raw device data into signals leaders can act on (Days 11 and 18)
  • ✅ Close the loop with reporting, notifications, and governance (Days 10, 15, and 16)

Automation at scale isn’t about more scripts. It’s about clear intent, controlled access, and trustworthy signals.

If you build on Graph, manage Intune at scale, or design admin platforms, these patterns aren’t optional anymore. They’re table stakes.

Thanks to everyone who followed along. More to come. 🚀
